Default questions about new computer

hello
i am looking into getting a new computer something with a lot of ram and a high speed processor because i will be doing a lot of downloading and using autoCad (architecture program) so i just don't know whether to go with a mac and use parallels or buy a PC or just build my own so any recommendations are welcome
thanks

If you have time and don't mind the hassles, build your own. Otherwise pick one that suits your needs. Now iMac is smoking hot, but has to be pre-ordered. See Amazon.com.
