Hello guys,
I am now using Windows 7 RC at 32bit, but I just received my copy of Windows 7, which is now tempting me to switch to 64bit. My current motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 (supports AM3, AM2+ and AM2) and processor is AMD Athlon II X2 250 3.0GHz. So could someone recommend a nice & powerful 64bit processor, please? I had a look around and found AMD Phenom X4 9850 AM2+ 2.5GHz 2MB Cache (but it draws 125W of power) for £85 (its OEM). There's also AMD Athlon 64 X2 AM2 6000+ 3GHz (125W power) - retail for £60. However my current X2 250 only takes 65W ... Also, I use Windows XP Pro 32bit as my 2nd OS. If I upgrade to 64bit, would I still be able to use that in 32bit? (I suppose I would have to reinstall it?) What do I do? All comments and suggestions welcome! Thanks!

Really? Wow!!
![]() But I have never read anything about it being 64bit! Could you confirm this, please? I read somewhere that if the 32bit disk in the Windows 7 package is activated, the 64bit disk will become useless! So I want to be 100% sure before I attempt 32bit or 64bit ... Thanks for the quick reply, maroon1! |
