Last time, I decided to save my money and wait for i5 and window 7 to come out. This time, I have decided it is time to build my new computer again.
The spec of the the current system I'm using right now ![]() Pentium 4 1.8GHz 1Gb DDR Ram 36GB IDE Harddrive Fx5200 GPU IDE CD Rom And this is the build for my new computer :3 ----------------------Edited CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139006 COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus Intel Core i5 & Intel Core i7 compatible RR-B10-212P-GP 120mm http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835103065 Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders - OEM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116754 ARCTIC COOLING MX-2 Thermal Compound http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186020 COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.273732 Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80605I5750 - Retail MSI P55-CD53 LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.273111 G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8D-4GBRM - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231278 ASUS EAH4870 DK/HTDI/1GD5 Radeon HD 4870 Dark Knight 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-291-_-Product LG DVD Burner Black SATA Model GH22NS50 - OEM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827136167 My budget is about $1000. Is it worth it to spend more than $1000 on a pc? I'm looking for the best bang for the buck. I probably won't be upgrading my computer for a long time. I will be using this computer to play game mostly, watching videos and using photoshop. The games I'm looking forward to play is L4D2, SC2, Diablo 3, Massive Effect. Looks like a solid build to me. Your graphics card situation sounds like it's mostly up to your patience. As for a monitor, I got an Asus 21.5" monitor 1920x1080 with hdmi in and built in speakers. It's got a very nice picture and is very spatious. However, I got this particular one because I also play my 360 on it, so you might be able to get something a bit cheaper without it.

Gigabyte MoBo's FTW! Personally, I'd go with the 300 over the 9, but that's just me. You'll most-likely go back and forth looking at the pictures of each for at least another hour, switching towards what you like more every 10 minutes
Both are nice, but if you want to save the money (or have a bit extra to play with on other parts the build) grab the 300.

get the HAF 922 case. it's a tweaked 932 and it weighs 10 pounds less, and is wider so you can fit more stuff in it.

I've owned both cases one time or another. Where'd all the extra weight come from xD

That MoBo has plenty of built-in sound power, but you can still buy a sound card if you have a higher-end speaker setup. What MoBo did you finally go with?

If you ever plane on going with Crossfire or SLI GPU's then go with an AMD or i7 build. The Socket 1156 motherboards only offer 8x,8x crossfire and SLI.This pretty much make crossfire or SLI with the i5 pointless. So if you have plains for future Crossfire or SLI then don't wast your money on the i5.
As for your build it looks pretty good. The only thing I would change is the graphics card to a 4890 or 5850. The 5850 isn't coming down in price any time soon so don't hold your breath for it. IMO Also don't get an Antec case everybody as an Antec mix it up. Go with the haf 922, Storm Scout, V9, CM RC-690, AZZA Helios, or anything from Lian Li. Edit: Oh yea get some of this thermal past Shin Etsu X23-7783D it's the past on the market.
