Default webcam problem: works or not?

Hi everybody,
okay, lets explain my situation:
A friend of mine has a trust wb-3400t webcam on vista.
He wanted to use it , but when he connected it nothing happened. Then he thought, maybe that is the problem, that he uses the xp drivers on vista. He dl-d the vista drivers, installed, still nothing. We have tried reinstalling drivers, but no use. When the cam is connected the light on it is on. Thanks for posting back,

well, if youve tryed uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and you havent seen any improvement...well iether there is a defect with the camera. or it could be a problem with your usb port. have you tried using another port. you could also try windows update....it sometimes does help.

Does the computer acknowledge the camera at all (beeps, safely remove icon, etc). Do you have another machine you could try it on?

First check that you have installed the driver correctly than plug in your webcam. If your computer is acknowledging it but you don`t get images you should return your webcam to the shop or call the manufacturer by phone. Check if is comparable with your OS.
