I've recently bought a laptop (Vista - upgraded to W7) and cancelled my landline broadband in favour of mobile USB internet. The service runs OK on my XP desktop, but from day 1 I've had problems on the Vista/now W7 laptop. The connection randomly disconnects - it can be connected for as little as seconds, or as much as a couple of hours. I've updated both versions of Windows I used, and updated the USB modems drivers.
A friend has highlighted my problem as being the default gateway showing as 'on-link', but he's not sure how it should be resolved. I had hoped W7 would solve the problem but it hasn't. I apologise if I've not provided the necessary information, and I'll be happy to post any that's required. Thank you. |
