Default Notebook computer problem

So this morning I turned on my ASUS brand notebook computer, and it seemed to be working as usual. But then I noticed that it was rebooting itself on it's own; and before it rebooted itself, I saw THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!!! for a split second. It said something about protecting my computer from serious damage and it was blue etc. so I assume that's what it was.

I turned off by holding down on the power button, and after shutting it off and un-plugging it a couple of times I got it to work (in fact I'm using it right now....), but I'm afraid to turn it off knowing that the same thing will probably happen.

I really don't know what the problem is. It worked fine last night. Does anyone here have an idea on what I could do to fix my notebook, or at least a way to find out what's causing this strange behaviour?

*My anti-virus program, The Shield Deluxe 2009, picked up some viruses yesterday and I thought they had been taken care of. Oddly, The Shield Deluxe is acting up too...there's a 'critical issue' saying that I have never scanned for malware (I have) and everytime I click 'fix this issue' nothing happens. Maybe this has something to do with whatever is wrong?

Thanks for the help in advance.
