Cool AMD mobo/gpu for $100 Good deal or not?

The guy who sold me his Athlon 64 x2 6000+ is selling his MSI K9A2 CF-F V2 AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X Motherboard & his HIS HD 4850 IceQ 4 1GB(256bit) GDDR3 PCIe video card for $100.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130172

http://www.hisdigital.com/us/product2-30.shtml

My question to you all is is it worth it?

If they are in good shape, 100 bucks is not bad. 4850 new runs 100 bucks or alittle over. The boards not bad, updated chipset over your boards now. Its got a 790X. Alittle on the lowend side board, but still a pretty good board. So, 100 bucks for both is a pretty good deal.

Well, last night I picked up the card & mobo. Of course I wanted to run home and rip everything out of my system so I could get it up and running with the new stuff. But I knew that wouldn't have been smart. So today after I get home from my daily routine I'll find away to install the mobo & card without making my Windows go invalid after detecting the new hardware. Yeah I know. I'm still in noob mode when it comes to somethings. lol

Anyways, the card seems to be what he said it was. It looks normal with the except that he pulls off the labs on his video cards to give them a more personalized look. I actually like the design on the HIS ICEQ cards but it's cool. Being that it's UV reactive it'll still look nice through my side panel window along with the blue led fan. Only draw back is I had a time last night trying to confirm that it was the right card. On the board itself it has a sticker that says (H485QS1G). Not (H485QS1GP) like on the HIS site. But I'll get the info after it's installed and I run a gpu id program.

Then there's the mobo. It's what it says it is. All labels and stickers were there. Only draw back to it was there's no I/O shield and one of the four screws is missing from the mounting backet that surrounds the AM2 socket. Fortunately he thinks he can get the shield and some of the accessories that came with it & the gpu. I'll get a screw myself.

All in all for a hundred bucks I guess the draw backs arent great enough to cry over. Oh, forgot to mention he had an old MSI K8MM-V mobo and just gave it to me since he's more into intel boards and has no use for it. I'll more than likely just sell it and make some of my money back.

Sounds like you got a good deal. Just make sure you replace the CPU mounting bracket screw. The IO shield is not a big deal, if you cant find one that matches, try Emailing Foxconn and see if they might send you one. You can run one without it, just looks kinda funky at the back without one.

That's what I was thinking. lol
I noticed you said Foxconn. Is Foxconn & MSI one group or did you mean to say MSI?
I'm definitely going to get one, one way or the other. I just hope he has it. The cheapest one I've seen so far was on ebay for $19.99. Not what I want to spend if I don't have to.

Update: I installed the new mobo & gpu late last night and finished adding the drivers and extra this evening. Thanks for the good advice. So far all the games I normally play are running EXTREMELY well!!! . It's more of an increase than I expected. And I have no regrets. Now all I need is a Phenom IIx4 955 BE! ;P
