Post Overclocking my system for the first time

Hi everyone, My specs are below
and I will be using this guide tonight to attempt to overclock my e6600 c2d

I have an aftermarket heatsink fan, im hoping I can get my cpu up to a 2.8 region... anything I should know before?

higher FSB will not hurt your chip. higher voltages will. Only increase the voltage if you get stability problems, and only in small increments. my E4500 is running at 3ghz with 1.4v exactly... it took a while to tweak the voltage so it wouldn't crash and didn't give me high temps.

really? thanks for the advice. we have very similar mobo... you got your memory to 900 mhz, what was it stock?

it is 800mhz stock. it went up to 900mhz without changing voltage/timings. I haven't gone higher for the sake of stability, I don't have much spare time this term, with end of year tests and all so i like to keep things running stable.
