Default Connecting Device to Internet Using a PC

That title was a little confusing probably so I'll elaborate. My PC is connected wirelessly to the internet. I'm wanting to connect a media player that I have to the internet as well, but it only has an ethernet port and no wireless. There isn't a router around to connect it to so I was wondering if I could connect it to my PC's ethernet port and get internet on my media player that way. Is that possible?

You could get a Linksys Wireless-G router and flash DD-WRT on it to make it a wireless receiver.

In vista go to network and sharing center>manage network connections right click on wireless network connection and click properties and then the sharing tab. Then check the box that says "Allow other network users to connect through this internet connection."
Then just plug a network cable in to the ethernet port on both devices and it should work.

What he said. Also, you may need to set the IPs on the PC and media player. It's what I've always had to do.

I don't have Vista, but there's that same option on XP. I'll give it a try.
