Default Windows7 on New Dell Laptop

Hello, I have a Toshiba laptop with XP Home installed. I am using this in my office haing other XP Pro, Home, Linux and Win98 computers connected peer to peer. Through my XP laptop I am able to administer all the computers by logging on with the admin username and password.
Now I am planning to buy a new Dell leptop with comes with Win7 Pro 64Bit. My questions are :
1) Will I be able to run all old programs which I was running on XP on Win7 64 bit?
2) If not can I dual-boot XP 32 bit with Win7 64 bit and run some programs there?
3) Or can I use some virtual windows software to run Xp within Win7 to run old programs? Does this work?
4) Will I have any problems connecting to my office network with XP home, Pro, Win98 and Linux desktops?

Please advice since I have to decide on the purchase of the laptop. Thanks.

Windows 7 Pro comes with "XP Mode" which allows you to download the software and a copy of XP directly from Microsoft.

XP mode allows you to run XP programs, and the applications will share the same desktop.

Thanks for the answer. Instead of Win7 pro, if I buy Win7 Home Premium, will it allow me to connect to the peer-peer network? I am able to do it with the Xp-Home. In the future if we setup a server instead, will Win7 Home be able to connect as an administrator to this?
