C++ Redist Package

For some reason I am not being allowed to install any type of C++ to my computer. Every time I try I get "Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly.......support for more information. HRESULT.0x80070424."

Please Help!

I have windows vista x64 home edition sp1
AMD Athlon X2 6000+

If more information is needed let me know and I'll give after I get done with my class.

What version of C++ are you trying to install?

Which .NET version do you have installed?

I have microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1

It says Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Setup (in the "borderlands" game dvd)
