Default new hardisk

I just put a new hardisk in my computer. I went to Bios and I saw that it is recognized however I cannot see it in Windows Vista. Why is that? It's a Sata 2 hardisk. What do I have to do? I also see it in the Device Manager but not when I go to computer...

Thanks

What motherboard do you have?

I had the same issue with one of my boards.

Certain SATA ports are reserved for RAID, and if you plug a drive into one of them, it will not work.

Try a different ports?

Most likely you need to partition and format it via disk management. Right click on my computer and click on manage, click on disk management on left and find the drive and partition/format it
