Default WD 1TB Caviar Copy

Hey!
I recently had a hard drive go bad. It works half the time, but that's not good enough. I got an advance replacement from Western Digital for the 1TB Caviar Black model, they sent it to me, and I think I've got it set up right. I've got the old hard drive with all the data set as Master and the blank drive set as a Slave. I want to copy ALL the files from the old hard drive to the new one, so it's as if I never had a broken one ever before. So basically, I want to get all files including the OS onto the new drive. I've heard there's freeware that can do this, but I can't seem to find a site that seems trustworthy. Help!

Wow, for some reason the Indian guy on the phone didn't tell me about that, he just told me about some 3rd party software.

I think all HD manufacturers have a data migration tool that will let you transfer an entire drive to one of their drives for free

Do I partition in NTFS, FAT32, or FAT16?

I would do NTFS, as there would be no problems with files over 4gb in NTFS.

Alright, doing NTFS and it's backing up... and I had to leave the house while it's doing that : ( so I'll get an effective update once I get to my mom's house.
