Default having a problem while formating (stop 0x0000007B)

i'm having a problem while trying to format my pc.

i boot from the windows xp cd and the blue screen (windows set up <setup is loading files>) starts and before asking to format, it gives me this blue screen problem

"a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer

technical information
stop 0x0000007B (0xF9AA3524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)"

any one has any idea what this is? and how to fix it?!

Thanks

Is this a Sata hard drive and if so, what computer or motherboard do you have? I'm guessing it because you need the sata controller driver, i've seen the blue screen before on the older sata boards. If this is a sata hard drive, go into the bios and see what mode the sata controller is in. You should have options of IDE or ahci/raid. If its ahci or raid then you would need the driver. You should be able to change it to IDE and not need a driver.

in the BIOS, see if you can set the SATA mode to "IDE Emulation" or something along those lines.
