Hey guys, I need a web server for the office I work at, were planning on building an intranet using sharepoint and only 15 users will be access the intranet. I found this server at tiger-direct, http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...Sku=C122-05082
specs:CybertronPC CALIBER TSVCXV9040 Tower Server - Intel Xeon 3220 Quad Core, 8GB DDR2-800, 3x500GB RAID5, DVDRW, 2xGigabit, 600W, NO OS I plan on buying windows 2003 server as the OS. I've never bought a server before so I just want to make sure this will make a good web server, what do you think? thanks. |

It seems slightly overkill for a local server - I'd go to Dell and spec one of their lower-end machines. Fifteen users, even if they access it all at once, won't max it out. I know a friend of mine has had over 200 clients connecting to a lesser server and it ran absolutely fine!
