Default ubuntu printer

well my brother Andrew wants to start making clothes again...he just ordered some kind of t shirt maker and now he just needs a printer that can print transparencies and thats not that expensive...also since its gunna be used on my computer it needs to work with ubuntu 9.10 64bit...so does anyone have any suggestions on printers

Get something HP. Stay away from Lexmark/Dell, they hate Linux!

i only really buy canon or hp, lexmark for one are junk I have had to many lexmarks take a poop shortly after i bought them in the past, and i just had to fix my aunts and it was only a couple days old. never had problems with hp or canon. never tried them in linux though

I'd go with something similar to the HP 6500, the XL cartridges for it have a pretty good cost per page and a great print quality for t-shirts and other graphic orientated documents.

Oh, and you should be able to get it for $50 off at most retailers right now, too; not just from the HP site.
