Default Dell e1505 keeps freezing up

Hi, I new to this forum and pretty computer non savy. I think my computer is screwed. It will turn on, I can sign in, but it will not let me do anything else, it just freezes. It does this everytime now. Can the hard drive be saved or is this a sign that it has crashed?

restart the computer, hit f8 as it boots, see if you can set the pc in safe mode... if you can get in the you can most likly save items off your hardrive, or you could always transfer the files

are you downloading millions of files on limewire?

Limewire: my son does. I went in in safe mode. I can bring up my son's info, the administrator, which is me, but cannot get to my info, pics and such.

so even in safe mode you can not get to anything huh?

How much available space do you have on your computer.. go to my computer.. right click on your C drive and hit properties... it should display that right there

if you have a lot of space available my next question would be how much ram do you have, what are the specs of your computer... CPU/RAM

if they are okay then Id guess there was a lot of spamware/bloatware on the machine

to get to your device manager click and hold the microsoft button (between alt and control) and then hit pause... it should tell you , your ram and cpu there

Hope I can help a bit, im sure we can get this fixed
