Default New focus :]

Well not brand new buuuut...
Bad news first. I have an 08 ford focus that I got last year, pretty much brand new, but it was considered used because it had 5k miles on it. Talked them down to 17 so I pay 282.48 a month. That's fine if I was staying where I am now...but next fall I'll be transfering to FIU (in miami) for school. Miami is SOOO expensive so I know I'll have to give my car up for something cheaper. Went to ford today because I know my car will probably be worth more to them than anywhere else. After an hour or two of talking and searching he showed me an interesting alternative. A black focus zx4 st....I LOVE IT!!
However...I'm going to have to learn how to drive a stick. But in my opinion, I'm very excited! Windows are already tinted it's got a nice spoiler, it's in good condition. I'll still have to pay 145 a month, but it's a big improvement!
I hope my dad ok's the 75k miles on it :[

The ultra-clean 2.3-liter four-cylinder introduced last year boasts six extra horses for 2005, bringing the total to 151. So, the 2.3-liter gives up 19 horsepower to the SVT mill, but the ST is just a minuscule 0.2 second slower in the sprint to 60.
it's kinda fast too

mmm i love the focus st's, but the zx4 st Don't think we have em in UK, I much prefer just the Ford Focus ST's, in lime green or orange ofcourse

How would that be much of a downgrade though on what you have now, i don't understand

im not a fan of the focus, but im sure you got a decent car. learning to drive stick is like a right of passage, everyone should know it for future use, and its fun

you'll get used to it to the point to where you will be DAMN bored driving an automatic. it comes in handy too, if your alternator goes out or your battery dies, if your starter goes out and you cant start it... you just push it and jump the clutch! starts itself! haha

I gave one of my old Grand Am's to a friend and she let her sister (who only drove Manual) take it one day. Merging on to I95 from the entrance ramp, she put on the left-turn blinker, checked her mirror, then promptly slammed the brake and threw the car in Neutral. Exciting stuff...but not really

I guess if you can't fix your own car, that you'd be stuck with a new car like this. if it were me, I'd go for a car from 2000 or so. they're much cheaper.
(Just looked at it, and the focus you have in america is quite big.. over here the focus is golf class car. (vw golf that is.)

Because the zx4 is an 05 with 75k miles on it...and mine was a brand new upgraded car.

That's what everyone's been telling me, that they miss driving a stick & that they're bored when driving an automatic. I was excited and now I just don't know what's going to happen because my dad doesn't like how many miles are on it, and the price didn't make sense.

Yes, but they were far enough behind to stop safely. As soon as she realized what she was doing, she put the Trans back into Drive (at around 20 mph mind you...). Odd thing is, she was warned about being super-aware that she was in an Automatic and had putted around town just fine leading up to that. Old habits, I guess

Sounds great! and your payment is slashed *almost* in half! And, ah, 75K being high? Thats nothing!! if it were 175K different story. Generally, we (my family) will not buy anything with more than 120K miles. Well, for me and my brother, like, 160K+- lol.
