Default Compaq Presario F700 parts

Anyone interested in parts from a Compaq Presario F700? As mentioned in a couple threads, this is my grandparents old laptop. It's in immaculate condition. Screen's perfect, keyboard looks/feels new, no scratches, nothing... It might even be eligible for a new battery. However, the motherboard is completely shot. No POST or backlight. The laptop just keeps turning on and off with the fan spinning rather high.

For security reasons, I want to keep the hard drive. Anything else is up for grabs, including the laptop as a whole. I don't know what parts would work on other HPs, but I suspect the LCD would if nothing else. It's your typical 15.4" 1280x800 LCD. Laptop's only 2 years old. I forget the exact specs, but it's some duel core Athlon (~1.8GHz I think), 1GB RAM, Broadcom B/G wireless.

I'll post a picture or two later, and can post pictures of requested parts if desired. Make me an offer if interested.

Yup. It came with a pair of 512MB sticks. I had upgraded it to 2GB, but I ended up putting that in their new computer and swiping the single 2GB stick it came with

Haha, yeah... RAM's a rare commodity I figured I'd ask more if someone needed a new keyboard, case, or screen. I guess the power supply would be fine too.

I'd be interested in the whole thing. How about $40 shipped?

can I get a part number for the screen?

My step dads laptop screen went and just so happens to be a 15.4" widescreen, like what you have, can check compatibility and if it would be happy to work will take that off your hands depending on price of shipping ofcourse

=EDIT=

scratch that, he just got me from my computer to tell me he decided to read the sticker on the laptop which clearly says it is a 17" screen. Damn stupid aussie wannabe, false alarm, gl with sale

lol nah, it wouldn't be compatible anyway, hell, most 17" monitors don't work with most 17" laptops, they are bloody fiddly seeing as how when it comes to desktops, a monitor is a monitor regardless of shape or size and will always work.

Oh wait, that is because desktops are better for.......everything
