New HDD wont install HELP!!
hey guys i recently bought a verbatim 320gb Hard drive however when connecting it came up with an error with the genetic volume. the hard drive is recognised on my other computer but not my lapt top i am running windows xp with intel hardware. i thought the issue may be with a faulty hard drive so i swapped it over for an iomega 500gb select portable hard drive but am having the same issues. any help would be geatly appreciated im suspecting its something to do with a driver but all my internet searches have provided no results thank you. the exact error message reads:
"windows could not load the installer for volume. contact your hardware vendor for assistance"
