I recently bought a Moto VE440 to replace my other phone which broke after six months and to which my previous providers refused to replace or fix. It has MP3 Player capability, but what I was wondering, and am having a hard time finding, is if I'm able to set songs that I put onto the phone as ring and messaging tones.
It's able to be expanded up to 8GB via microSD. So in short: - I have a microSD 8GIG. - Moto VE440. - Songs on the card and phone. - I want to customize the rings for certain people so I can tell who's calling/messaging without looking at the phone. - I want to know how to set the songs as messaging and ring tones. -- Is that able to be done? - How would I go about doing so? - Would I need to shorten them on a site and save that clip to put on the microSD card? -- How would I go around using that clip as the messaging/ring tone? Thank you.

I think to be played through the phone it has to be some sort of format... usually not MP3 because phone companies hate convenience.

Ringtones are stored on the phone itself and must be loaded via usb cable or bluetooth. You have to shorten the ringtones and convert them to the ringtones format.
There is a guide on here somewhere Edit: Guide to making your own ringtones for mobile devices

I'll take a look at the guide and see if I can get this working tonight or sometime tomorrow. If I keep having problems I'll just hit this thread back up.
Thanks.
