Default Processor Model Numbers

Hi,

i've been looking at laptop processors and i wanted to know based on the model number alone, which would be farster/better. For example, on my toshiba laptop i have

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P7450 @ 2.13GHZ

but i saw a hp laptop with
Intel Pentium Dual Core T4300 2.1 GHz

based on these figures, how can you tell which is faster?

Althoug, when i bought my toshiba laptop, about 5 - 6 months ago, the superviser said that it had to do with the letters i.e the 'T' and 'P' in that the lowere the letter they are in the alphabet, the faster they would be. Is that right? If so, would this mean that the hp laptop would be faster than my toshiba laptop?

Thanks

P7450
from my memory, P series do with lower energy consumption...
To seem which one faster, you need to check the FSB and L2 Cache as well.

Make it simple for you, go to website like cpubenchmark.net to check.

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P7450 @ 2.13GHZ
3Mb cache and 1066MHz FSB

Intel Pentium Dual Core T4300 2.1 GHz
1Mb cache and 800MHz FSB

So P7450 is the better of the two and less heat as well
