Default New Laptop

Hi everyone,

My problem is that I need to buy a laptop for school but I don't know witch one is the best for me. I'm currently studying programming but i will have to use software like photoshop soon.

So my first question : Is it better for me to have windows 7(laptop) or a mac?

other information:
-price: 0$ - 2500$
-good battery if possible(i want to use it for long period)
-easy to transport (not too big but i don't care of the weight)
-It's not for playing games

ty for your answers

Use windows if you are used to windows and mac if you are used to mac. any more when it comes to graphics they are about equal. however most of your books for photoshop or really any adobe programs' help books are geared toward macs. but you can find some good books for windows. You will need a good bit of cpu power to run photoshop and most other programing software so a netbook is out of the picture. i would probly go with a dell xps laptop. http://configure.us.dell.com/dellsto...=DYDWGN3&s=dhs this ones woudl be great for ya. it starts at 1250$$ pleanty of power ram and hdd space for those 30MB photoshop files..

Portable with long battery life
ASUS UL80Vt
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...&Tpk=UL80VT-A1

Better for running photoshop - Go for quad-core??
ASUS G51J-A1

However, I would recommend you get a desktop + monitor with $1500 to run all photoshop and programme. Then get ASUS UL80Vt or $400 netbook to carry aronund.
