You can't do it with windows but if you were to install pFsense on your computer you could run it as an access point. This would only work if you were planning to use the computer as an access point and nothing else though.

It is possible, I set them up occasionally when others around me need wifi. I wrote a nice guide for Vista/win 7 here. It's pretty easy to do.

No problem and me either. On Macs it's incredibly simple. I would've assumed Microsoft would've made it easier in their new OS since it's a pretty handy function. Hope it works out for you.
