Default AMD vs Intel

So I'm deciding whether I should get AMD or Intel.
Honestly which one is better for multitasking video editing etc. A lot of intense work?
Or how about which one good overall? Price and performance?
Which one is better? opinions please!

Don't go looking for a specific brand. While Intel tends to be on top at the high-end, I hear the top AMD Phenom II's overclock like crazy (though the i5's and i7's overclock quite well too ). But along the middle to low range, both companies are about equal. It all really depends on your budget.

although i am an amd fan, intel does give better performance, but amd gives you more for your money. Intel i7 motherboard are a lot more than amd mobo's are, and yes-phenom II's do overclock quite well. i got my phenomII 940 3.0ghz running at 3.7 all the time, although i can go up to 4.1 for short periods of time, like for 3d mark or superpi.

It all boils down to budget, as both manufacturers make great chips.

You'll get more "value" from an AMD system as you can get decent chips for much cheaper than Intel's high end stuff.

If you want the best and have the money, go for Intel socket 1366.

For multi-tasking, intel i7 would be the best choice since it supports Hyperthreading

I would say depends on budget.
Go for intel if you can afford core i5/ core i7. Anything else go for AMD.

AMD is less expensive with excellent performance. If money is no option, then go with the top end Intel Proc.

Intel - Top Tier Higher Price Best Performance

AMD - Middle Tier Cheaper Prices

Depends on your budget...the sales going on at the time...and how motivated you are on hunting for the items.
