Default Thinking about a new gaming build $1500 Budget

I built the machine i have now back in january of 2008. I got alot of suggestions and help with the Rig I have now, which is listed in my signature.

My brother offered to buy my rig for 600 since his computer is old as sin.

What I am looking for if I decide to go with a new build would be.

1) a core I7 processor with a motherboard that is open to be able to upgrade to something better in the future.
2) Would like to go SLI mode. So dual video. EVGA Geforce preferred ... GTX 260 or higher
3) Better ram then what I have now
4) Bigger HD
5) Windows 7 64bit
6) Do not need a Monitor or a keyboard and mouse

I have a Prolimatech Megahalems cooler ( http://www.svc.com/megahalems.html ) In my machine now which i would move to the new rig. Including 2 Ultra Kaze 120 MM fans ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835185054 ) On top of that I would prob move my Raptor HD over also.

Thanks in advance with all the help

Honestly speaking...at this point in time it would be dumb to go with an nvidia card for the price.

PSU:

GPU: One of these will kill GTX260 in sli...

Case:

Mobo: Best board for the price, overclocks like a monster as well

Memory:

ODD:

CPU: Xeons will overclock and run at lower voltages than Core i7's as they are higher binned chips(Generally speaking)

Subtotal: $1,444.90

Plus you cant go wrong with the megahalems...best cooler out there

Dont skimp on a power supply,if it fails, it usually takes out other components alongside it.

Sorry to interrupt, but will any X58 board accept a 1366 Xeon?

Yes, the W3xxx for sure. Some boards do not support the W5xxx however.

Physically speaking they are the same cpu, the Xeons however are binned higher to run at a lower voltage, and therefore you have more room to add voltage when overclocking and such, plus they run cooler at lower volts.

Not sure what your trying to ask in the second half....
