Default Ie8 optimized problems

Since I upgraded to IE8 Optimized, my browser has been doing a lot of strange things. LOTS of pop-ups and when I click on a link it will go to something else altogether un related. Sy I click on a link for Microsoft, it will go to a page selling women's underwear. This has only been going on since the upgrade to IE8 Optimized.
Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you and sorry to have bothered you. I'm not a computer wiz. This is still fairly new to me.

Followed the instructions, scanned and fixed. Still the same problem with IE8. Also scanned with Kaspersky. Don't seem to have it (the problem) with Firefox but have been using IE for so long I'd just as soon keep using it. Any suggestions or should I post this question elsewhere?
Thanks

Please post both logs from Malwarebytes and Hijackthis so we can see what is still on your system.

What exactly is "IE8 Optimized". Did you download IE8 somewhere other then Windows update or the Microsoft website? That may be your issue too.

Microsoft stuff sure does seem to me to be a LOT of trouble to keep working. Why is that? I've scanned IE with Kaspersky, Malwarebytes, PC Doctor, Registry Mechanic, McAfee and Norton and have found NO malicious anything anywhere in IE OR the entire system. I thinkk it may be the time for yet ANOTHER full system recovery and this time to get rid of Vista. I've had trouble with it since I've had it getting slower and slower at time goes by until things just stop working. I do a full system recovery 1-2 times a year and it keeps things "OKAY" for a while then it's time for another. I was hoping I had all the bugs worked out, but I see those bugs aren't going anywhere.
Thanks for the help and advice. May try a different os altogether like Linux or something. Microsoft is just too much trouble.
