Default Netgear router connection drops

I am constantly getting connection drops, tried changing channels and it didn't work. I even get connection drops on wired computers. *sigh*

Sounds like you got a bad router. Have you felt it to see if it gets extremely hot?

Check and see if theres a firmware update, if that doesn't work id try changing the security on it. I've seen conflicts with some computers not working with wep/wpa2. Find out which one works best.

Second the notion about firmware. Many times this will fix such issues.

If you continue to have problems, try connecting directly to the modem and see if the problem is ISP related. At one time we were getting dropped/lags and it turned out to be our ISP dropping the service for a few seconds. Connected to a computer, it was just a lag in connection. Connected to the router, the Linksys would freak out and require a reset.
