Computer doesnt shutdown and restarts instead?

today i noticed something weird about my computer..i pressed the shutdown button and it restarts instead of shutting down..can someone pleas help me

Check your power settings in control panel, see if power button press is set to shutdown or restart.

bomber is correct. that is the actual problem. Your settings have changed, and probably a malware is the cause for it.

i checked power settings and they were all correct to my preference...im guessing its malaware because when i startup windows xp i get to choose 2 different windows xp's and i went on my 2nd one that i barely go on and it shuts down completely normal but the one ive been using is restarting instead of shutting down
