i was wondering if anything would happen if i left my xbox 360 vertical instead of horizontal becasue someone once told me it could mess up the disc drive

No, it'll be fine. For a while, my friend had his vertical, and it was fine. If something goes wrong, all that can happen is you scratch up the disk that is in it.

As long as it isn't being touched, it really doesn't make a difference. But as Elimin8or mentioned touched on, if the XBox is moved while running, it can scratch up the disk. When it is vertical, it is quite easy to knock over if you bump it, which will put some nice scratches on your disk. I've actually done it a couple of times now, but the game were fine after I took them to get them polished.

I did it the day I got it by accident, I knew not to do it but why I did it, idk, put it from verticle to horizontal, ironically because I thought it may wobble and scratch the disc or fall and scratch the disc . That cost me £10 for a replacement forza 2 disc

actaully I meant just simpliy with it off, you move it, then possibly when you turn it on...though i doubt it. I have done it with computers before.

Hey thanks guys but I would have it in a place where it wouldn't be able to fall because that has happened to me previously and it runes my disc

5 of the 7 times my Xbox 360 broke it was standing vertical. So IMO don't stand it up just lay it down.

7 times!?!? Either you use it way too much, use it in the wrong way, store it in the wrong way or are just unlucky, wtf are you doing to your cconsoles, mine have never had so much as an rrod.

lol, Well like I have said before I used to be a pretty big gaming addict. The first 360 I had got RROD 2 weeks after I had got it. The 2nd-4th had disk drives stop working. The 5th and 7th had fans to break which made them over heat. The 6th had the video go out on it. The one I have now with the new jasper chip works great. I have had it for about a year and have never had a problem with it. Of course I don't play much anymore, I used to play 14 hours a day, and just leave my 360 on get up and start playing again the next day. That was when I wasn't going to school and had nothing to do.

7 consoles really isn't that abnormal with the earliest XBox 360s. I've known people that have gotten 4 or 5 RRoD, and I've definitely read online from people that have gotten more.
