Alright, i need some help guys.
Im completely stumped on this problem i have been having. For quite some time now ive been running a wired router. It took a poop on us so we bought a wireless router from wal-mart. Wanted to go wireless because my desktop has wireless built into it, my girlfriends labtop is wireless and i would like to go wireless with my xbox asap. So we bought a router and got it all hooked up about a week or so ago. Everything was working great, labtop and desktop were running just fine. All the problems started when i tried to install the cd for the router onto my desktop. Everything was working just fine before i tried to do the install or whatever. Ever since i popped that cd in, the router is pretty much non-existence. I took the router back today to wal-mart and exchanged it for the same one, hoping to get off to a fresh start. Here is the router we bought- http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ct_id=11060711 Got the new router set up earlier and i still am having the same problems. I cant get anything to connect to it! Wired or not, nothing will connect. Any suggestions? Thanks |

Ive tried restarting my ocmputer several times- nothing When trying to connect to the wireless network, the network will appear but i can not connect to it. |

So once you replaced the router, you were never able to get online with it? Are you trying to install the router on the desktop wired to the router? It's always best when setting up a router to use a computer that is hardwired to it instead of using wireless.

When i replaced it i was able to use the internet, everything was fine, wireless and everything.
Everything went shitty as soon as i popped that belkin "installation software cd" in. Ive tried wireless and wired and i cant get anything from the router wired or not. Router shows its receiving internet and my computer shows a very healthy wireless connection. |

Did you try to install the software after everything was hooked up? I know when I installed my Linksys router I had to install the installation cd first and then hook up the router. I had to install the cd, as it was installing it gave me directions on how to hook up the router, then configured it and it was done. I would think yours would work a similar way.

Theres a piece of paper that says so with pictures on how to do it and it even says so when you pop the disc in. Nothin gets downloaded when the disc is popped in, its basically a manual on a cd for the router. Im going to take the Belkin back and exchange for a Linksys and go from there. |

If the router was working for the laptop and the other desktop, why did you put it in yours to set it up if it was already working for the other 2? Or am I understanding you wrong?
