Hey Guys,
Currently studying IT at uni, and am writing the caracteristics of a computer Register. I am aware of the sizing of registers, and how these can help determine speed etc, but the main question is how is register speed mesured? i searched around, and couldnt find the answer.. It seems a bit of a stupid question i know, but its what the lecturer wants to know! Cheers, Matt |

Also, Just noticed, it also requires the "Access Time", and "Cost per megabyte", although i am liking to leave the cost per megabyte, as it seems like a ridiculous question to ask!

I am doing HNC Computing in Scotland and we talked about registers but not in a great detail. Registers are there to store data, coming from memory to CPU as well as address of the next piece of memory that is needed exampes are MAR-memory address register and MDR- memory data register.
I realize that I am not helping much :/ |
