Have two computers w/Linksys Wireless G PCI Adapters - both Model WMP54G Version #4. Was given another Linksys Adapter (same model as above) which I want to use on a 3rd computer. That 3rd computer, has Wind.XP, 256MB RAM, Processor is 1200 MHz and the hard drive has loads of free space and I know the CD-Rom works properly. Recently installed WindXP, Norton, WordPerfect and other cds w/o problems.

I installed the older version Adapter into that 3rd computer and then put the cd from my version #4 into the CD-ROM. For some strange reason, my computer recognizes the cd is in the CD-Rom, but then stops reading it before it even gets started. Those Version #4 cds worked well in my other 2 computers and I had no problems with their being read.

Maybe my recently acquired Adapter would work better with a Version #2 cd, but why won't that particular computer even read my Version #4 cd and what do I have to do to correct that problem.

Please be patient and precise, since I am a novice with computers and get easily lost. Guess I am getting too old. Can fix clocks, cars, motors ,most machines, etc, but computers get me confused!
