Default Having scanner installation issues!

I just grabbed a hp scanjet 7400c that was at the office , and I'm trying to hook it up to my home computer. I found the driver, installed it, followed the directions, and when I run the hp precisionscan pro program that it installs, it never recognizes the scanner. It says "Sorry, scanner could not be initalized. (Scanner not found.) The weird thing is it was working at the office, and it seems like it should be in working order...what to do?

Have you tried plugging it in different ports. Sometimes the usb ports on the front of the case don't work properly.

I tried moving it to the back, and it still didn't work.. I mean, I have my mouse plugged into the front of the case ports.

One last question I have is if both computers have the same service pack. You could also try to download the newest drivers from the internet:

Thats all I can think of so if anyone else can add their 2 cents it would be nice.

I have on of those at the office. You MUST install the software BEFORE hooking up the scanner.
