A 4850 is about equal to a 9800GTX, but the 9800GTX has PhysX which is a factor in some games.

A 4850 is better than a 4830.

Thanks for the responses. One more query...
What's the difference between Palit Geforce 250 and XFX Geforce 250?
or MSI ATi HD 4850 or Sapphire ATi HD 4850 or Asus ATi HD 4850?

I know these are different manufacturers and certified partners of ATI and Nvidia but what's the point of difference? Why prices of same model cards from different manufacturers differ?
Which is the better (GPU manufacturer) choice in ATi and nvidia?

Please clarify my doubt...
Thanks in advance

Eh, i wouldnt quite say about equal, the 9800gtx/9800gtx+/GTS250 are all about 5-15% faster depending on clockspeed/model(mainly if its a 65nm or 55nm). However with a 4850 you usually can pick one up cheaper.

Different manufacturers to save nvidia and ati money on support and such. For nvidia, EVGA and XFX tend to be the best with warranty and support, and Sapphire, XFX, and Asus for the Ati cards. Generally speaking the cards themselves are identical unless the manufacturer adds in a non reference heatsink or non reference PCB with better voltage regulators or such.

Get the XFX GTS 250. their warranty is excellent, double lifetime, and they will also replace it if it dies from you overclocking it. They have already offered to replace my 4850 which has small issues occasionally.
