Delete Content in History Folders

Windows XP has a "History" folder under the c:\documents & settings\User profile.

This "History" folder keep a record of the user history in the websites that were visited. May I know how do I disable it from keeping the history/ record?

In the upper bar in IE, Tools>Internet Options Set days to keep history to 0.
