Default computer wont turn on - eBay

I sold my dekstop computer to someone on eBay who lived one state next to me. He said that when he recieved it, he was unable to turn it on. He turned on the switch in the back, and the keyboard lights flashed and and he wasnt able to turn it on with the power button. He also said that he brought it to the local PC repair shop and they said it was a motherboard problem and it would cost alot of money to fix. But it worked fine when i shipped it out, so i dont know what the problem could be. Anyone have any ideas?

Try reset, yank power cord, push powerbutton. Also, does it still turn on? Mobos, don't cost a lot...

My friend actually had the same problem, but the problem with his was a power supply. He is paying for the shipping back. He says that when he turns it on from the back, everything turns on for a few seconds then shuts off, and the power button on the front doesnt do anything.
