Default Certain sounds not working....

If I'm playing a game, running Windows Media Player, or doing some other thigns, my sound works fine. But when I start/shut down my copmuter, it doesn't make and Windows sounds. It also doesn't make any sounds on most websites, and I have a program called TabIt, that you write music on in .MIDI format, and it doesn't play that either. I don't know anything about sounds, but I think it just doesn't play .WAV' and .MIDI files. The wierd thing is, it used to work, and I must have installed somethign that made it not work.... sorry I don't know what tho. Also when I have my Audigy plugged in, it works fine, but I'm wanting it to work without that plugged in, so how do I do this?

Well, if it was midi, it could be your midi volume. Check that anyway as t could be the problem as some sites still use that format(well, if you don't have quicktime set to play them using wav...)

Um, so you have 2 cards(I guess the Audigy is USB or something?) Maybe somehow it's stuck trying to use one card over the other? I beleive dad had that problem when he first installed a new card in his computer and still had the interal one going. I guess be sure the one you aren't using is disabled at the time. That or connect the 2 by line-out to line-in

I checked all the volumes... its not that. As for the Audigy, its a PCI board, and im using Realtek that came onboard with my copmuter... This problem starting happening vefore i bought my Audigy 2 anyway, which is what made me decide to buy it.
