Default xp on new hard drive

got a new hard drive and xp installed full copy to new drive going to keep both hard drives in for now but how do you pull files from one drive to the other?
old drive has windows me

attach it as a slave, and install the xp on the master.. turn the computer one and you have both files, new and old

did that but can't seem to get anything to work like outlook express, quicken any suggestions

did you reformat the old drive? you should wipe out the old OS on the old drive before using it.

If you installed the OS, and moved the folders containing previously installed software to the hard-drive from another HDD, you're going to run into issues. First off, the data for the software wouldn't be in the registry, and secondly, you'd have to make sure it's in the exact same folder. If you can, for any program that doesn't work (assuming you just ripped the directories off of the other drive) try reinstalling it.
