I just found out something really cool and it has speeded up my shut down times imensely. What it does is wait for less time for services to end upon shutdwn. I dont know about you guys but my PC used to sit there for ages and then finally shut down.
Open up regedit and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then go to SYSTEM, then CURRENT CONTROL SET, then CONTROL. In the right hand pane there is an entry called WaitToKillService. Simply double click on this entry and change the value to 200. Reboot and see how quickly it shuts down. BRILLIANT
