I am unable to attach sound and picture files to messages in Yahoo Mail. When I turn off Windows firewall it works. Of course, I don't want to turn off the firewall every time I need to upload an attachment. How do I make an exception for Yahoo Mail? By the way I'm using windows 7.

That doesn't really help since this is with Yahoo mail which is not listed as a program. How do I make exceptions for a feature of a website?

Are you behind a router? Routers have their own hardware firewall.

I do have a router but I know that that is not the problem. I know that because when I temporarily disable Windows firewall, I am able to attach media files. So that's why I want to make an exception.

No, I mean if you are behind a router then technically you don't need a software firewall such as windows firewall.
