EAX sound in games??

i currently have a soundblaster live 24 bit sound card running a 4.1 speaker configuration. in say, doom 3, it can have EAX sound in the game, and my sound card says it has that feature. but when i try to turn it on in doom 3, it says i have the wrong hardware configuration or something and it wont let me turn it on. what could be the issue?

also, is there any way i can reverse the channels on just the two back surround speakers. because of how short the cords are, i have to have the right surround speaker on the left and the left on the right. how could i reverse them with soundblaster live 24 bit?

First, I would say in the Sound blaster menu within the creative software, make sure EAX is configed, etc. Secondly, I am not aware of a way to reverese your speaker channels.
