Cannot rename shortcut on quick launch toolbar

I have dragged and dropped a shortcut to the quick launch toolbar, the shortcut is to a folder on another networked pc. I right click over icon and change name but when i hover over the icon it says target.
All the other shortcuts can have their name changed.
On another networked pc i am able to change the name to that quick launch shortcut to a folder on this laptop so i dont know what the problem can be.
Any help would be great. XP Pro

Have you tried dragging the shortcut off the quick launch, back onto the desktop and renaming it?

If I right click and select rename it shows as Compaq but when I hover over it it shows target. If I drag to desktop it is named compaq, if i drag it back to quick launch toolbar it shows target!!!!!
Wierd or what!!!!

Have you tried to delete the file and download a new one from the network. File may be corrupt.
