Yes it is eXPerience. Longhorn is a code name, just like Whistler was XPs codename

Everything just needs to be open-source. People can predict all kind of problems with this method, but i cant see how that would be any worse than what is going on NOW, on top of the fact we PAY for crappy software now. I'd choose free crap over expensive crap.

Yes open source is good, but it isn't necessarily free. And it is more difficult to find bugs/security flaws in closed source (only reason ppl find so many in windows is because that is the first thing a ton of people do when they get a new version, not that is is horribly buggy software).
