Need Help Installing internet explorer 6

I need help installing Internet explorer 6 on windows Me computer. I went 2 microsoft.com and i clicked on windows update and it said i need explorer 6 so i tried 2 install it and it downloads then its extracting or wat ever and it says 1% 2% 3% 4% then goes 2 like 70% 76% and says that i couldnt complete the operation try closing all other applications. So i closed all the stuff by like clicking CTRL ALT and DEL and closed at programs and it still doesnt work. SOmeone Help me plz Thanks

Do you have access to any other version of windows? ME was the red headed step child of windows and should have been shot. Even 98SE would be better than ME
