Networking Question !

Hi,

I am trying to network 2 Desktop PC's. 1 has XP Home installed & the other has Windows 98. Can I network these 2 computers successfully using a simple everyday network cable ? Nothing fancy....just want to share files ...that's it !!!!

Please Help ???

you need a Crossover cable; a regular cat5 won't work.

You could use a doulbe sided USB cable that would work the same way

You need a crossover cable. But the best thing is to buy a router, that way you get some internet protection as well, and network will be easier. If you already have a router, use it!
