Default SATA on a Gigabyte K8VT800 Motherboard

I am building my own computer for the first time. I have just recieved the motherboard mentioned in the title. I just wondered that when I gather all the components (i plan to purchase a SATA hard drive) hwo would I go about installing the operating system on the SATA drive. Would I need to install drivers? As I have a few on a DVD that was sent with the mobo (I bought it off ebay).

Cheers

Ben

Strangely enough from the Via site, IIRC, the K8T800 supports SATA natively (and the K8T800Pro doesnt) so you should be ok. If not then you'll need the SATA drviers that come with the motherboard during the installation process.
