Hi, new to the forum and hoping you folks can help.
I have an e-machines t2542 pc. Im tring to install a nVidia geforce fx5500 (pci) video card. The problem is I get nothing on the monitor when I plug it into the card. Here's everything i've done so far. Disabled the on-board video card. Installed the new one. New card shows up in hardware list and says its working properly. Still no display when hooked to new card, but get display when pluged it to old monitor jack on back of pc. Also have tried changing in Bios the video setting to pci from on-board and then I got nothing out of either plug. Changed back to on-bard then get display back. Real dumb question, but the monitor needs to be plugged into the new video card and not the jack where it use to plug in to the pc, correct? Please advice me, on how to get the card working. Thanks |
