Can't get no sound...

Ok, first of, I have to say that I don't know anything about computers. Or maybe enough to get by, but that's it. Anyway, I've had my computer for a year or two now, and I never got the sound to work. At the place where I bougth it, they said the sound should work. But it don't! And yeah, I have speakers...

Edit: Oh, and this is my first post if anyone care...

Are the speakers plugged into the correct port? Most all computers follow the same color code, and it should be green. Usally the end of the cable that you use also matches the port...

I know, simple, but it's best to always start there first rather than tear the machine apart

Well, my sound works now. I got my dad to look into it, and he said I had no driver

So now I can finally listen to my illegal downloaded music that he always complain about
