Default Seagate 250GB HDD: Naked electronics??

Hi
Has anyone any experience of Seagates Barracuda 250GB drive 7200.8? I just recieved one from Ebuyer here in the UK. The electrostatic bag the drive arrived in has a 'Western Digital' logo on it, and was already open! WD and Seagate aren't related are they?
Also it arrived with no cover over the electronics; ie I can see all the PCB, IC's etc. Is this normal for this drive?
Looks like I've been sold a dodgy return, but would appreciate knowing quickly whether the lack of a cover is normal before I harangue Ebuyer.
Thanks.
Phil
